The National Parks Regulations 2024 establish a clear set of rules for a consistent approach to the regulation of National Parks.

National Parks for which the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (the Authority) has been, or will be, appointed as the park manager are listed in the Great Ocean Road and Environs Protection Act 2020.

You can also refer to this section of our website for updates: National Parks Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority

The regulations outline clear objectives to provide for the management and control of parks and to regulate or prohibit certain conduct in relation to parks, so as to promote:

  • the preservation and protection of parks, flora, fauna and indigenous fish, cultural heritage and various other landscape features of, and facilities in, parks
  • the protection of designated water supply catchment areas and other water supply catchment areas
  • the safety, enjoyment, recreation and education of visitors to parks

The Authority will set aside areas of National Parks under its management to uphold the objectives of the regulations.
