Apollo Bay Airfield land management transfer complete

The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (the Authority) is excited to begin managing the Apollo Bay Airfield.

As of 1 December 2023, land management responsibility for the airfield transferred to the Authority, which is designated as an aircraft landing area for the region.

The airfield is located on Telford Road, Marengo, southwest of Apollo Bay.

We encourage and advise pilots check local weather conditions with the Australian Bureau of Meteorology and conduct a precautionary air search of the airfield before landing.

While our short-to-medium term management of this land will remain consistent with that applied by the previous land manager, Colac Otway Shire, we are engaging with community to best understand the area and shape our management plans for the future.
