Apollo Bay Plant Nursery a Growing Success
Published on 21 March 2025
We have completed works on a new nursery at our depot in Apollo Bay,
The nursery houses more than 2,500 plants propagated using seeds and cuttings by Apollo Bay Conservation Leading Hand Kristian Russell.
The nursery will supply indigenous trees, shrubs, and grasses for bushland and foreshore restoration initiatives along the iconic coastline.
Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Environment Manager Evan Francis said
"The new nursey will help us to improve wildlife habitat and increase biodiversity along the coast.
By targeting weeds and increasing native vegetation cover we can build resilience into coastal ecosystems.
We’re thankful to all the volunteers rolling up their sleeves to help us care for our beautiful coastline.”
