Community reps sought for Great Ocean Road roundtable

The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (the Authority) is seeking interest from people to join a roundtable to help guide how we involve the community in our work.
The Community Engagement Roundtable builds on the feedback we received during consultation on our draft Community Engagement Commitment and Framework over the past three months, which included an online survey and a series of webinars.
The roundtable is an opportunity to dive deeper into the ideas and comments raised during the consultation period, in a face-to-face setting with peers and Authority representatives.
The Authority, which was established in December 2020, is responsible for looking after the Great Ocean Road coastal environment and key tourism assets on behalf of the community. It is essential that our work is informed and guided by input from the communities we serve.
The Community Engagement Roundtable will focus on:
- Key changes to the draft Community Engagement Commitment and Framework
- How we operationalise the Framework. That is, how, when and where the activities will be delivered in a way that works for everyone
- How to draw on existing knowledge and experience within communities and how we continue working together
- Understanding priority strategic issues for the Great Ocean Road.
To ensure we hear from a variety of voices, we are seeking participants with connections to communities across the full length of the Great Ocean Road, with a range of ages, skills, genders, cultural backgrounds and interests.
The roundtable will be held on Sunday 17 July 2022 from 11am – 3pm in Apollo Bay. Numbers are limited, so please register your interest by Friday 1 July. Successful participants will be notified by Tuesday 5 July.
