We’re pleased to share with you the final designs for two new amenity blocks at Bird Rock, Jan Juc and Grove Road, Lorne. These designs are the outcome of extensive community consultation and feedback that we received earlier this year.

We aim to keep the public facilities on our managed land in tip-top shape so they can be used by you and visitors now and for years to come. The busy Grove Road amenity block will be a spruce up of the existing facility, and at Bird Rock the dated facility will receive a total makeover.

The new amenity blocks will have:

  • Better accessibility
  • More capacity
  • Improved hygiene
  • Water drainage
  • Eco-friendly design features

We’ve worked closely with the Eastern Maar and Wadawurrung Traditional Owners to make sure the designs are respectful and inclusive of their values and aspirations.

We’re grateful to everyone who took part in the community consultation process and gave us feedback on the proposed concept designs. We considered your feedback along with Aboriginal inclusion, environmental outcomes, design quality, social outcomes, and funding requirements to create the final designs.

We anticipate that works will start in 2024 and will take about five months to finish. We’ll keep you posted on when this will happen.
