Port of Apollo Bay management transferred to the Authority
Published on 09 July 2024
We are overseeing the safe, efficient, and effective management of the Port of Apollo Bay.
Management of the port transferred from the Colac Otway Shire on 1 July 2024.
We know the port is integral to Apollo Bay’s identity, generating significant economic and social benefits by attracting thousands of visitors each year.
Our initial priorities:
We want to ensure continuity of operations for port users.
We’re assessing the operations to ensure the health and safety of port employees.
We’re meeting port stakeholders and developing relationships with users.
Our employees:
We’re aiming to deliver improved Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) outcomes for our team.
This means our initial work will have a strong focus on OHS, emergency management and environmental requirements.
We also want to share expertise and knowledge across our three regional ports and increase the professional development opportunities on offer for our employees.
Local management:
We now manage three ports along the Great Ocean Road – Apollo Bay, Port Campbell (also from July 1, 2024) and Lorne.
We’re seeking a Port Manager to oversee our portfolio of ports, and are now out to market.
