Our Engagement team will be out in the community this summer seeking input on the design of a new Marengo Beach Access Ramp.

The Ramp it Up Marengo engagement will kick off on Monday, November 18 with the launch of an online survey and in-person in Apollo Bay at the Community Market Stall on November 30 between 8.30am and 1pm, and the Ramp itself on the morning of Wednesday 4 December.

The Marengo Ramp, an important access point for the local community and visitors to the rock shelf and beach at the southern end of Mounts Bay, is set to undergo a much-needed replacement to ensure safe and continued access.

Due to its location on a coastline prone to coastal hazards the ramp faces ongoing challenges from scouring and sand loss.

While the ramp’s current alignment has largely withstood climate impacts, it can no longer fully meet the safety and accessibility needs of today’s users.

Construction of the new ramp is expected to begin in 2025.
