Preparations for the highly anticipated 2025 Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach are underway, bringing temporary changes to traffic conditions and car park access in the area.

Access to the Bells Beach Car Park will be limited starting this weekend. Bump-in activities will officially begin on Saturday, 29 March 2025, and will restrict access to the Bells Beach Car Park through to Monday, 12 May 2025.

While every effort will be made to minimise disruptions, access to the beach will be maintained wherever possible.

Traffic and Access During the Event

The event officially kicks off on Friday, 18 April 2025 (Good Friday) and runs through to Monday, 28 April 2025, with the waiting period covering the entire event. During this time, expect significant changes to traffic conditions in the area, including:

  • Speed reductions and traffic management: Expect lower speed limits and managed traffic flows.

  • Bells Beach Road Changes: The road will be reduced to one lane between the Wave Car Park and the South Side Car Park.

  • Increased Traffic: Large crowds are expected, leading to significantly higher traffic volumes and accommodate event attendees.

Post Event Traffic Impacts

While the competition is set to end on Monday, 28 April, event bump-out will continue into the ANZAC Day weekend (through to Sunday, 12 May), potentially causing further impacts.
