Residents and guests of the Kennett River Caravan Park have been doing their bit for the environment while raising thousands of dollars for their local surf life-saving club.

Kennett River Caravan Park has collected approximately 35,000 bottles and cans from across the caravan park this year, helping to raise more than $3500 for the Kennett River Surf Life Saving Club

Park Manager Ty Donaldson and Tim Rothman from the Kennett River Surf Life Saving Club have collected thousands of cans and converted them into cash at the Brotherhood of St Lawrence depot in Geelong.

The scheme rewards Victorians with a 10-cent refund for every eligible can, carton and bottle they return.

Congratulations to park management and guests for cutting waste and giving back to their local community.

Quotes attributable to Accommodation Services Manager Brendan Parker:

"Each can we collect is helping to ensure the surf life saving club has the resources it needs to protect our community this summer.

We’re proud of our caravan parks and we want to work together to support communities along the Great Ocean Road.”
